action

Anne Fuchs accompanies her business partner Youssef El Kilali to a henna evening for his large Moroccan family. With her worries about her son, she doesn't feel like partying at all, but the bride also makes a very sad impression on her. But that's not all, the festivities are suddenly disrupted by a group of thugs. Since the groom's father doesn't want to call in the police, Anne Fuchs is given the task of finding out who the thugs were and who sent them. Youssef has the idea to ask the bride's former boyfriend because he thinks he is guilty, but the two detectives find the man dead in his apartment. Inspector Ralf Eisner is not happy to meet Anne Fuchs at the crime scene again, which has always meant complications for him.

Anne Fuchs would like to speak to the bride Jamila Bassir, but she is shielded from her family and no one is allowed to see her. Youssef should come up with something that he can do with his tricks. They kidnap Jamila and hide her from her brothers. Only now does the bride find out that the man she actually loves has been murdered. She had to agree to the wedding because she was supposed to marry Tobias Frahm, the son of one of her father's business partners. Because neither she nor her actual boyfriend Patrick liked it, Jamila's uncle set the thugs on Frahm. But since Patrick's death had occurred before the assault, the murder could not have been Frahm's direct act of revenge. The detectives learn from Jamila that Patrick was also involved in Frahm's company and had been fighting for some time to have a works council set up. Corresponding documents have disappeared from Patrick's apartment, in particular his backpack is missing. Jamila tells them that Patrick told her that it was her ticket to freedom, so she didn't have to marry Frahm. In desperation, she hires Anne Fuchs to find Patrick's murderers, even if her own family might be behind it. But it is more likely that something is wrong at Frahm's company. That's why they try to find out something there, disguised as temporary workers. It quickly becomes clear that the employees here are being exploited to a high degree. Niko, a friend and work colleague of Patrick, tells them about a contact between Patrick and a man from a metal company. Contact with this stranger is found faster than Fuchs and Youssef had expected, because Gerald Gruhn contacts them himself. He had given Patrick a piece of paper that he would like to have it back and therefore hired the detectives to find it. Allegedly this is an old loan agreement, but the two do not find out more at first. A short time later, Gruhn is found murdered in his house. Anne Fuchs can find out through Commissioner Eisner that Gruhn was targeted by an investigative group that deals with association crime. This fits in with the knowledge that Youssef's niece Saida had gained about Gruhn's company and its financial activities. Allegedly he donated all of his company profits to charity. On closer inspection, these are communist organizations that operate worldwide. The vixen uses her old contacts and gets more information about Gruhn's activities from Wolfgang Kröger, who used to work for the Stasi and now works for the Ministry of the Interior. Since Fuchs, with her knowledge of his past, has no other choice but to deliver what she wants. Kröger confirms the previous results of the investigation about Gruhn. With the end of the GDR, he was entrusted with funds from the former government with which he built up his current company. With this knowledge alone, Anne and Youssef do not get any further and so they decide to look for Patrick's backpack. This works because he had hidden his things with his work colleague Niko. Here you will find the loan agreement that Gruhn had spoken of. This shows who had also received money from the GDR assets at the time, namely the Frahm company. In order to finally convict the perpetrator, Fuchs has the families of Jamila and Frahm convene. In front of the assembled team, she reports on the results of her investigation, so that groom Tobias Frahm gives himself away. Patrick wanted to blackmail him so he wouldn't marry Jamila. His father had not supported the international working class with the money made available to him, as the loan agreement at the time required, but kept the profits for himself. Patrick would have brought that to the public, or he and his father would have been blackmailed for a lifetime if Tobias had not stopped him. Since Gruhn had learned from Patrick about the "infidelity" of the Frahm company, he saw in the man a danger that the family secret could become known and also silenced Gruhn. While Fuchs is waiting for the police to arrive, Jamila suddenly stabs Tobias Frahm so that she too has to be arrested.

Privately, the problems around her son at Anne Fuchs do not end. Despite her many visits and attempts to help him in court, she achieves quite the opposite. He continues to reject her and her false statement, which should actually benefit him, now brings him a clear guilty verdict and a life sentence. Anne is desperate because she has lost her son for the second time.

criticism

Thomas Gehringer from tittelbach.tv said: “The series thrives on its sympathetic, versatile characters, but is developing more and more into a mainly light crime comedy with moderately exciting cases. The German-German past and the topic of omnipresent surveillance are receding as independent, serious motives and, it seems, only have the function of promoting the crime story. The effort to take the diversity of society into account is evident. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave this episode the "thumbs up" without comment.

Harald Keller from the Frankfurter Rundschau assessed: “One of the qualities of the series is still the balance between tragedy and comedy.” On the other hand, “the grumpy inspector Eisner appears, the character of the layout in the script as in the portrayal by Robert Dölle turned into a caricature more often than necessary. Hope is given by a beautiful scene in which Eisner, who is not very sympathetic to hobby criminalists, develops sympathy for Fuchs and offers her a strong shoulder in a weak moment that is very untypical for her. If Eisner were not continually reduced to the role of curmudgeon curmudgeon, but were given individual characteristics and more diverse feelings, the figure would offer rich dramatic potential. "
