The Last Lie - Who Lies Last Loves Best is a comedy film by Jonas Grosch , who also wrote the screenplay. It was released in selected German cinemas in spring 2011 without being distributed. It opened the eighth berlin film festival on April 13, 2011 and was subsequently released on DVD on April 15, 2011 . The premiere took place on March 31st in the “Studio” of the Capitol in Marburg as part of a promotion tour on which the DVD was sold in advance.

The film was financed or produced entirely privately by two private individuals as well as Wackernagel and Grosch themselves, without funding or a larger production company. It is the follow-up to Résiste - Uprising of the Interns . Like him, he was photographed by cameraman Matthias Hofmeister, cast with Grosch's sister Katharina Wackernagel in a leading role and provided with music by the German ska bands The Busters and Black Cat Zoot , which makes up a significant part of the overall work. What is also unusual about this film is the great importance of sign language .

action

Lucy and Ole want to spend Easter as a romantic weekend in the country. Of all places, their secret lovers Peter and Ina are standing in front of the door unannounced. Both have left their own partners and thus thwart Lucy and Ole's contemplative plans. They do not dare to reject their loved ones, but neither do they dare to confess the truth about the guests to their partners, which is where the lies and entanglements begin. Peter, the sign language teacher, is portrayed as a cook by Lucy, while Ole, the photographer, introduces Ina as a former model. The chaos is increased by the intrusive postman, a notoriously clogged drain and the kitchen-philosophizing but clumsy cleaning company "Sisyphos", as well as Ina's pregnancy and, last but not least, two other unexpectedly settling protagonists, namely Lucy's deaf sister Nellie and the melancholy Armin - she is acute Heartbreak with band leader Jim, he in constant mourning for his ex-wife.

In this confusion the truth can no longer be hidden: Peter's mushroom soup comes from a can and Ina's child from Ole. Lucy finally urges Ole to speak while the other four get a little closer. Then Lucy and Ole jointly announce that they are committed to the truth and therefore part. Inas and Peter's happiness only lasts for a moment, because Lucy and Ole seamlessly confront them with the latest truth, namely that they slept "one last time" together. Cheated on their part, the two lovers leave, Ina with Armin in tow, while Peter meets Jim's band at the bus stop. After their big show, at least Jim and Nellie are happily hugging each other again.

music

The real action is interrupted five times by vocal performances of all main characters except for the deaf Nellie why Jonas Grosch the film as "crazy screwball - Musical " means. The actors sing in the playback .
