Location of Dieperzen in Rhineland-Palatinate

Dieperzen is a formerly independent municipality in the Altenkirchen (Westerwald) district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is now a district of the city of Altenkirchen (Westerwald) .

geography

Dieperzen is about two kilometers (Gut Honneroth about one kilometer) north of the center of Altenkirchen . Fields, meadows and mixed forest surround the district.

history

The district of Dieperzen included the hamlet of Dieperzen and the Honneroth farm, including the manor buildings and the manor house built by the manufacturer Bullrich, which later served as a country education home .

Dieperzen was first mentioned in late medieval documents relating to the nearby Koberstein moated castle (today Hofgut Koberstein ). In the investiture of Mant Limbach in 1495 is out of the castle seat cover stone still an associated "Höffgen to Dieperzen" called by a property of about 40 acres. Traces of this Höffgen, which was located between Dieperzen and Honneroth, are still listed in the find register of the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn . It says: Dieperzen, in the corridor “Im Röttgen” was a mound of earth that was surrounded by two to three meters deep and about four meters wide ditches. A house was built in 1906 on what is known as the “old castle”. The moat has been preserved. In the present there is nothing left of the house, but the ramparts can still be clearly seen.

At the beginning of the 17th century, the Counts of Sayn bought land in "lost villages" and built stately farms there. In this context, the Helmeroth , Bergenhausen and Honneroth farms were built around Altenkirchen . The Honneroth court came into the possession of the Prussian state in 1815 and was to be auctioned in 1824. However, this did not succeed, the farm was sold in three parts and only reunited by the manufacturer Bullrich at the beginning of the 20th century.

As early as 1905, the community of Dieperzen submitted the application to be merged with the neighboring community of Bachenberg . The reason was probably the common wish of the community to build a one-class school in Bachenberg. There was no unification, but a school association was founded. Dieperzen's attempt to merge with the Busenhausen community also remained unsuccessful in 1930. It was not until 1957 that there were new considerations to join the district town of Altenkirchen, above all in order to reduce the high costs for the school association. Around 3,000 DM of the tax revenue had to be paid for this purpose and left no scope for road construction. At that time, however, there was no majority in the vote, as the parishioners feared that the school community would continue to exist. It was not until 1961 that a unanimous decision in the Dieperz municipal council came about, as the school in Bachenberg had meanwhile been closed and the Dieperz pupils had started school in Altenkirchen. The city council of Altenkirchen approved the request of the Dieperz citizens. Nevertheless, it has not yet been incorporated , as in the course of the administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate there were considerations to incorporate the communities of Helmenzen, Mammelzen , Michelbach and Almersbach , which are closely intertwined with the city , but this was not realized in order to give the city a preponderance over the To avoid Verbandsgemeinde.

It was not until 1972, when the town of Altenkirchen took over the Honneroth farm and the development plans were drawn up, that the question of the incorporation of Dieperzen became topical again. In 1973 the incorporation contract came about. The state government provided small communities with less than 1,000 residents with cash gifts when they dissolved; 100 DM per inhabitant were paid upon dissolution. With the local election on June 10, 1979 the incorporation took place. A local advisory board existed until 1989. Since then, the new district has grown in particular through the new development areas "Honneroth 1" and "Honneroth 2". In 1984 there were 199 people living in this electoral district of the city, in 1994 more than 460 people entitled to vote.
