Dieter Mronz

Dieter Mronz (born May 17, 1944 in Trogen ) is a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ). From 1988 to 2006 he was Lord Mayor of Bayreuth .

Life

Dieter Mronz studied law and political science with economics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen . In 1965 he became a member of the Baruthia Corps . He put 1972 the Great state examination and received his doctorate for Dr. jur. utr. in state and constitutional law. Between 1973 and 1977 he was a councilor in the government of Upper Franconia and the Bayreuth district office . In 1977 he joined the administration of the city of Bayreuth. Until his election as mayor in 1988, he was legal and personnel officer, hospital, safety and environmental officer and finally city ​​manager . Mronz is married and has two children.

Political career

Since 1982 Dieter Mronz was a member of the district assembly of Upper Franconia. In 1988 he was elected Lord Mayor of Bayreuth and re-elected with 68% in 1994 and 63% in 2000. After an 18-year term in office, he decided not to run again in 2006. Dieter Mronz's successor was the CSU candidate Michael Hohl in a runoff election on March 12, 2006 between SPD and CSU candidates .
