Dieter Perlwitz

Dieter Perlwitz (born October 5, 1930 in Cottbus ; † September 3, 2019 ) was a German actor and director .

Life

Originally Dieter Perlwitz wanted to become a veterinarian. In order to fulfill this wish, he began as an agricultural assistant in 1950, completed an agricultural apprenticeship from 1947 to 1949 and attended an agricultural college in Halle (Saale) from 1949 to 1950 . Here he was already working in an amateur theater group, with which he was delegated to the Germany Youth Meeting in Berlin in 1950 . During a walk in the street Unter den Linden he discovered the DEFA young talent studio for stage and film (since 1951 Staatliche Schauspielschule Berlin ), went inside, was immediately allowed to audition a role and was the only one of 17 candidates accepted for training, which he successfully completed in 1953 finished.

Dieter Perlwitz then had an engagement at the theater of the young guard in Halle (Saale) , in 1955 switched to the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam to work at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin from 1957 to 1959 . For the next five years he was a member of the acting ensemble of the DEFA studio for feature films, for which he has already and subsequently taken on numerous film roles. From 1964 to 1974 he worked as a director, actor and head of the Moritzburg television theater of the German television broadcasting company and television of the GDR in Halle (Saale). For the smaller viewers he became known for his role as Captain Hein Pöttgen, as whom he repeatedly appeared in the DFF program Our Sandman .

From 1975 to 1978 Dieter Perlwitz was chief stage director and actor at the Young Guard Theater in Halle / Saale and at the Greifswald Theater . From 1978 to 1996 he was a freelance actor and director and from 1986 to 1988 he was director of the Potsdam cabaret at the Obelisk.

Dieter Perlwitz was a member of the German Film Academy .

Dieter Perlwitz was married to Roswitha Perlwitz, a doctor of medicine (1942 to 2012).
