The focus is on Alicia "Plum" Kettle, who works as a freelance ghostwriter for Kitty Montgomery. She runs a successful fashion magazine and has hired Plum because she sensitively answers questions in her advice column.
Plum is very dissatisfied with her life. As she is overweight, she decides to have gastric banding surgery , which those around her do not approve of because of the risks. At the same time, a mysterious feminist guerrilla group called "Jennifer" started a series of attacks.
