Dietrich von Tettau

Dietrich von Tettau (born March 30, 1654 - † April 3, 1730 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian secret budget and war minister.

Life

Dietrich von Tettau was a member of the Prussian noble family von Tettau . His parents were the Chancellor of the Duchy of Prussia and President of the Higher Appeal Court Hans Dietrich von Tettau (1620–1687) and Dorothea von Borcke († 1689). The Prussian secret budget and war minister Friedrich von Tettau (1664–1748) and the Prussian major general Daniel von Tettau (1670–1709) were his brothers.

He began his career still in the Duchy of Prussia, where he also goods vetch and Schönbruch possessed. He was a Prussian district administrator and Landdrost zu Schaaken . In 1711 he became Obermarschall and in 1719 Oberburggraf in the Kingdom of Prussia. In June 1726 he became a Knight of the Black Eagle Order . He was secret budget and war minister as well as president of the pupil and commerce college.

Tettau was married to Katharina von Dönhoff (1669-1752) since 1699 . She was the widow of the Brandenburg Major General and Governor of Tilsit Johann Friedrich von Schlieben (1630–1696) and the daughter of Count Gerhard von Dönhoff (1632–1685), Polish and Swedish Chamberlain , Polish banner bearer, Lithuanian cupbearer and head sess as well as Starost zu Telsen , and Anna Beate von Goldstein (1645–1675).
