Friedrich von Tettau ( February 8, 1664 - November 18, 1748 ) was a Prussian Minister of State and Johanniter - Komtur zu Werben .

Life

Origin and family

Friedrich von Tettau was a member of the Prussian noble family von Tettau . His parents were the Chancellor of the Duchy of Prussia and President of the Higher Appeal Court Hans Dietrich von Tettau (1620–1687) and Dorothea von Borcke († 1689). The Prussian secret budget and war minister Dietrich von Tettau (1654–1730) and the Prussian major general Daniel von Tettau (1670–1709) were his brothers. He himself remained unmarried.

Career

Tettau began his career in the Prussian army with the Trabanten Guard. On February 24, 1693 he received the knighthood with the Order of St. John and in 1724 was commendator to Werben. As early as 1701 he became chief governor of Oletzko and was promoted to colonel in 1704 . 1711 he became district administrator, Vogt and Amtshauptmann to Fischhausen . On May 12th, 1730 he was promoted to Real Secret State and War Ridge , as well as President of the Pupil College . In 1736 he became a Knight of the Black Eagle Order .

Tettau was the heir to the Prussian estates of Wicken , Schönbruch , Graventin, Preussisch Arnau , Trimmau , Sommerfeld , Salzbach and Thomsdorf . He was buried in Schönbruch. His great-nephew Ernst Dietrich von Tettau (1716–1766) became his universal heir.
