Location in the municipality of Kos and in the regional district of Kos

Dikeos ( Greek Δίκαιος ( m. Sg. )) Has been a municipality on the Greek island of Kos since 2011 . It is named after the mountain range of the same name. With the administrative reform of 2010 , the municipalities of the island were merged to form the municipality of Kos on January 1, 2011. The seat of local government was the small town of Zipari with 3387 inhabitants (as of 2011). Since then, Dikeos has been one of three municipal districts here.

With 62.575 km², Dikeos is the smallest of the three municipal districts on Kos. From the fertile coastal plain with the towns of Tigaki and Marmari in the north, the terrain slowly rises. The highest elevation at 846 m ( main peak Dikeos ) is reached on the Dikeos mountain range (Δίκαιος) in the south. The mountain range runs through the island from east to west and then falls relatively steeply into the sea on the south side. Neighboring parishes are Kos in the east and Iraklidis in the west .
