Marmari ( Greek Μαρμάρι ( n. Sg. )) Is a small town on the Greek island of Kos .

Location, geography, traffic

Marmari is about 13 kilometers west of the city ​​of Kos as the crow flies, at about 0 to 7 meters above sea level. Marmari is one kilometer away from the island's main road, which runs between Kos and Kefalos . It is about ten kilometers as the crow flies to Kos Airport near Andimachia . In the east the next places are Tigaki , Zipari and Linopotis , in the south Pyli and in the west Mastichari . Marmari belongs to the municipality of Dikeos ( Δημοτική Ενότητα Δικαίου ) which was home to 7,130 people (2011). The district of Dikeos is divided into two districts (Asfendiou and Pyli) with eight places. 3036 people lived within the urban district of Pyli (Δημοτική Κοινότητα Πυλίου) (2011). This district includes the small town of Pyli (Πυλί) with 2469 people (2011) and the village of Marmari (Μαρμάρι) with 567 people (2011).

Marmari has changed from an agriculturally oriented village or fishing village to a holiday resort in the last few decades.
