action

Raj Bakshi ( Shah Rukh Khan ) runs a car repair shop. His younger brother Veer ( Varun Dhawan ) is testing a newly tuned car and meets Ishita Malik ( Kriti Sanon ), with whom he falls head over heels in love. At a party, Veer prevents the drug dealer King ( Boman Irani ) from selling drugs there, whereupon they ambush him and beat him up. Raj, in turn, takes revenge for his brother without his knowledge by going to the gang, beating them up and burning the drugs there.

15 years earlier, Raj was involved in a chase in Bulgaria , during which he hit Meera Malik ( Kajol ). Shortly afterwards they meet again and begin a love affair. Raj, son of gang boss Randhir Bakshi, has to carry out a gold delivery. However, this is intercepted by a rival gang, which is led by Meera's father Dev Malik. It turns out that was Meera's plan all along. Nevertheless, Raj saves Meera in a car accident, but promises to kill her if they meet again. Meera becomes aware of her true feelings towards Raj and seeks him out. Raj forgives her and they continue their relationship. Together they decide to get married and try to convince their enemy fathers of the wedding. At a meeting, however, Dev sets a trap for Raj and Randhir. Randhir and Dev shoot each other in a firefight. When Meera comes to the scene, she misinterprets the situation and shoots Raj, believing he has killed her father.

Back in the present, Ishita and Veer, who know nothing of their siblings' past, want to get married. Raj and Meera see each other for the first time since the incidents in Bulgaria. Raj tries to clear up the misunderstanding, but Meera doesn't listen and opposes a marriage between Ishita and Veer. When King's employees try to force Meera to sell drugs in their café, Raj shows up and protects Meera. Meera then makes the offer that she would not oppose the marriage between Ishita and Veer if Veer cuts all ties to his brother. Raj confronts Meera and tells her the truth about her father's death. Not convinced, however, a former employee of her father confirms this representation, so that Meera agrees to a wedding.

At the wedding of a couple of friends, Raj and Meera get closer again, but Veer comes into conflict with King. As Raj defends his brother, King shoots him, but Meera throws herself in front of him and intercepts the shot with her body. Meera survived and Raj and Meera finally get back together in the hospital.

criticism

"Admirers of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, probably the most beautiful lovers in Indian film history, get their money's worth in the otherwise mixed Bollywood spectacle Dilwale ."
