The Huacaschuque district is located in the Pallasca Province in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was established on January 13, 1955. It has an area of 13.6 km². The 2017 census counted 553 residents. In 1993 the population was 879, in 2007 it was 671. The district administration is located in the village of Huacaschuque, which is about 3100 m high and has 221 inhabitants (as of 2017). Huacaschuque is 10 km north of the provincial capital Cabana .
Geographical location
The Huacaschuque district is centrally located in the Pallasca province. The area is drained to the west via the Río Huandoval (also Río Sacaycacha), a left tributary of the Río Tablachaca .
The Huacaschuque district is bordered to the west and the north by the district Pallasca well as to the east and the south by the district Huandoval .
