The Lacabamba district is located in the Pallasca Province in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was founded on October 3, 1942. It has an area of 63.5 km². The 2017 census counted 538 residents. In 1993 the population was 846, in 2007 it was 656. The district administration is located in Lacabamba, 3329 m high, with 304 inhabitants (as of 2017). Lacabamba is 19 km northeast of the provincial capital Cabana .
Geographical location
The Lacabamba district is in the north of the Pallasca province. The Río Conchucos flows along the northeastern district boundary to the northwest and flows into the Río Tablachaca in the far north of the district .
The Lacabamba district borders in the southwest on the Huandoval district , in the west on the Pallasca district , in the northeast on the Pampas district and in the southeast on the Conchucos district .
