The Llapo district is located in the Pallasca province in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was founded on January 2, 1857. It has an area of ​​29.2 km². The 2017 census counted 631 residents. In 1993 the population was 640, in 2007 it was 688. The district administration is located in the 3480  m high village of Llapo with 615 inhabitants (as of 2017). Llapo is 14 km south-southwest of the provincial capital Cabana .

Geographical location

The Llapo district is located in the south of the Pallasca province. The area is drained to the west towards the Río Tablachaca .

The district of Llapo borders in the southwest and in the west with the district Santa Rosa , in the north and in the northeast with the district Tauca and in the southeast with the districts Corongo and Bambas (both in the province Corongo ).
