The Huandoval district is located in the Pallasca province in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was established on March 9, 1923. It has an area of ​​116 km². The 2017 census counted 1083 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 1193, in 2007 it was 1144. The district administration is located in the 3035  m high village of Huandoval with 720 inhabitants (as of 2017). Huandoval is located about 8 km northeast of the provincial capital Cabana .

Geographical location

The Huandoval District is centrally located in the Pallasca Province. The area is drained to the west via the Río Huandoval (also Río Sacaycacha), a left tributary of the Río Tablachaca .

The Huandoval district is bordered to the west by the district Bolognesi , in the northeast and the north by the districts Pallasca and Huacaschuque , in the northeast on the district Lacabamba , in the southeast of the district Conchucos and the south by the district Cabana .
