The Huayacundo Arma district is located in the Huaytará province in the Huancavelica region in south- central Peru . The district was established on February 9, 1962. It has an area of ​​37.7 km². The 2017 census counted 468 residents. In 1993 the population was 458, in 2007 451. The district administration is located in the 3150  m high village of Huayacundo Arma with 282 inhabitants (as of 2017). Huayacundo Arma is located about 9 km north-northeast of the provincial capital Huaytará .

Geographical location

The district of Huayacundo Arma is located in the Peruvian western cordillera in the central northwest of the province of Huaytará. The district is located on the east bank of the south-west flowing Río Quito Arma.

The district of Huayacundo Arma is bordered in the northwest by the district of Quito-Arma , in the north by the district of San Antonio de Cusicancha and in the southeast and in the south by the district of Huaytará .
