The district of Córdova is located in the Huaytará province of the Huancavelica region in south-west central Peru . The district has an area of ​​104.59 km². At the 2017 census, there were 1005 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 1099, in 2007 2101. The district administration is located in the 3216  m high village of Córdova with 289 inhabitants (as of 2017). Córdova is 52 km southeast of the provincial capital Huaytará .

Geographical location

The district of Córdova is located on the western flank of the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the south of the Huaytará province. The Río Huaranga (later Río Tibillo and Río Santa Cruz), a right tributary of the Río Grande , has its headwaters in the district.

The district of Córdova borders in the west and northwest on the district of San Isidro , in the north on the district Laramarca , in the east on the district Ocoyo and in the south on the districts Tibillo ( province Palpa ) and Yauca del Rosario ( province Ica ).
