The Quito-Arma district is located in the Huaytará Province in the Huancavelica region in south- central Peru . The district was established on July 27, 1955. It has an area of ​​239 km². The 2017 census counted 728 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 1008, in 2007 it was 881. The district administration is based in the 2956  m high town of Quito Arma with 141 inhabitants (as of 2017). Quito Arma is located 9 km northeast of the provincial capital Huaytará .

Geographical location

The Quito-Arma district is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the far northwest of the Huaytará province. The Río Quito Arma and Río Huaytará rivers flow west along the southeastern and southern district boundaries. The area is located in the catchment area of the Río Pisco .

The district of Quito-Arma bordered to the west by the district Huancano ( Pisco Province ), on the north by the district Ticrapo ( province Castrovirreyna ), in the northeast on the district of San Antonio de Cusicancha , in the southeast of the district Huayacundo Arma and the south by the Huaytará district .
