Magdeburg district
The Magdeburg district was an administrative unit in the department of the Elbe in the Kingdom of Westphalia . It was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807 and existed until 1813.
In the district with its capital Magdeburg lived 1811 110.302 people on 27.96 mi² . It covered 14 cities , one market town , 7 Vorörter , 108 villages , 20 hamlets and 25 wastelands with 14,484 households. Of the creed, 1992 people were Catholic, 3,395 were Reformed and 422 were Jewish. The rest of the population had an evangelical creed.

The district was headed by a sub-prefect . The sub-prefect of the Magdeburg district was the prefect of the department Philipp Ernst Alexander Graf von der Schulenburg-Emden .

Cantonal division
The district was divided into 18 cantons on December 24, 1807, which included 119 communities. From 1811, the cantons of Salza and Schönebeck were administered jointly by the mayor, Mr. Grashof, and the adjuncts Werner and Schneider. Likewise the cantons of Egeln and Germersleben through the mayor, Mr. Paris.
