Dornbock is a district of the municipality Osternienburger Land in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt .

Dornbock is located between Dessau-Roßlau and Bernburg (Saale) in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve .

Bobbe, which was incorporated into Dornbock on October 1, 1961, was designated as a district of the former municipality.

history

Dornbock was first mentioned in a document in 1360.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Dornbock, Chörau , Diebzig , Zabitz , Drosa , Elsnigk , Großpaschleben , Kleinpaschleben , Libbesdorf , Micheln , Osternienburg , Reppichau , Trinum and Wulfen merged to form a single community of Osternienburger Land. At the same time, the administrative community Osternienburg , to which these communities belonged, was dissolved.
