Diebzig is a district of the municipality of Osternienburger Land in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Diebzig, a square village , is located between Dessau-Roßlau and Calbe (Saale) in the Middle Elbe river landscape biosphere reserve . In the north, the pigeon delimits the built-up area from extensive oak forests.
history
In 1792 was the Prince Ludwig von Anhalt , the castle Diebzig in the style of late Baroque built; it is the smallest hunting lodge in Saxony-Anhalt.
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Diebzig, Chörau , Zabitz , Dornbock , Drosa , Elsnigk , Großpaschleben , Kleinpaschleben , Libbesdorf , Micheln , Osternienburg , Reppichau , Trinum and Wulfen merged to form a single community of Osternienburger Land. At the same time, the administrative community Osternienburg , to which these communities belonged, was dissolved.
In June 2013 the place was badly affected by the Elbe-Saale flood .

The coat of arms was designed in 1999 by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .

Personalities
- Leberecht Uhlich (1799–1872), German theologian, was a pastor in Diebzig between 1824 and 1827.
- Gustav Adolf von Nordenflycht (1846–1921), German forester, author and publisher of publications on hunting, organized hunting trips with the upper classes in Diebzig before 1900.
