Würflau (2011)

Würflau is a district of the municipality Osternienburger Land in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt .

Geographical location

The village is about two kilometers southeast of Osternienburg and about one kilometer south of Elsnigk .

history

The first documentary mention of Würflau took place in 1370 in the loan book of the Magdeburg Cathedral Provost as Worpleve . The name may be of Slavic origin. Before 1602 Würflau was probably uninhabited for some time.

traffic

On the eastern edge of the village, a road leads south from Elsnigk in the north, which crosses federal highway 185 at Scheuder's inn .

The place has no rail connection.
