Pißdorf is a district of the municipality Osternienburger Land in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Pißdorf lies between Dessau-Roßlau and Köthen on the edge of the Middle Elbe biosphere reserve .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1342 as Bistorp and in 1732 the place was called Bisdorp . Only then does it become today's somewhat unusual name. It can be assumed that it can be traced back to a bishop's village, especially since the bishop of Brandenburg held the right of patronage. In the hallway there were finds from the Schönfeld culture , the Early Iron Age and the Bronze Age . The oldest parts of the village church date from the 13th century and have been rebuilt several times. In 1972 the church and tower were badly damaged. In 2011/2012 she received her old tower hood again.

coat of arms

The coat of arms of Pißdorf shows a jumping dog.

Culture and sights

Every year in May, the traditional ring riding organized by the Pißdorf Culture and Heritage Association takes place. In addition to the village church from the 13th century, there used to be a windmill near the village. At the entrance to the village there is a monument to the Battle of the Nations . The former village school is now a residential building, and the rectory is similar.
