Chörau is a district of the municipality Osternienburger Land in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt .

Chörau is located in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district west of Dessau-Roßlau on the edge of the Middle Elbe river landscape biosphere reserve .

history

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Chörau, Zabitz , Diebzig , Dornbock , Drosa , Elsnigk , Großpaschleben , Kleinpaschleben , Libbesdorf , Micheln , Osternienburg , Reppichau , Trinum and Wulfen merged to form a single community of Osternienburger Land. At the same time, the administrative community Osternienburg , to which these communities belonged, was dissolved.
