Dmitri Demiashkin ( Russian Дмитрий Демяшкин ; * 1982 in Saransk , Soviet Union ) is a Russian pianist with Swiss citizenship. Since 1999 he has lived in Winterthur , Switzerland.

Life

Demiashkin is of Mordovian descent. He began his piano training at the age of seven in Kazan with W. Spiridonova. Two years later, Demiashkin's new piano teacher, KA Schaschkina, moved to Moscow . Demiashkin followed her with his family and continued his studies from 1991 at the Central Music School Moscow .

During his early youth, Demiashkin first took part in the Margess International Master Classes (now Astona international summer music academy) in Switzerland and was invited two more times by the organizer with a full scholarship .

In 1999, Dmitri Demiashkin moved to Switzerland with a grant from the Lyra Foundation to study with Konstantin Scherbakov and Homero Francesch at the Zurich University of the Arts , while at the same time continuing to study in Moscow with TL Koloss, ( Honored Artist of Russia ). Demiashkin also took part in several master classes in France and Germany , under Russian masters such as Lev Naumov , Alexei Lyubimov , Elisso Wirsaladze , Dmitri Bashkirow and Vladimir Viardo.

Demiashkin completed his studies at the Zurich University of the Arts with a concert diploma with distinction (2005) and a soloist diploma (2007). From 2008 to 2010 he was also the assistant to Homero Francesch at the Zurich University of the Arts.

Demiashkin has played worldwide as a soloist with the orchestras Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich , Camerata Zürich , Beethoven Orchester Bonn , Orchester Philharmonique de Liège, the Prague Symphony , the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic , the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow.

  • First prize and special prize for the best performance of a Tchaikovsky composition at the Third International Russian Music Piano Competition in San José , California , USA (2002)
  • Second prize at the Casagrande competition, Terni , Italy (first prize for the best final round) (2006)
  • Third prize at the International Beethoven Competition, Bonn , Germany (2007)
