Dmitri Anatoljewitsch Posdnjakow ( Russian Дмитрий Анатольевич Поздняков ; born  July 6, 1972 in Zelinograd , then the Kazakh SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Kazakh biathlete .

Dmitri Posdnyakov started for Dinamo and lives in Zerendi in the Aqmola area . He is the coach of the Kazakh national biathlon team. Posdnjakow made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in 1994 as 99th in the individual in Ruhpolding , the first points he won as 24th of the sprint in Novosibirsk in the 1996/1997 season . This was also his best result in the World Cup, mostly he was placed in the back third of the field. His first major event was the 1995 biathlon world championships in Antholz , where Posdnjakow was used in the relay and was 15th with Valeri Ivanov , Alexander Menschtschikow and Dmitri Pantov . At the 1997 World Championships in Osrblie , the Kazakh was used in all five competitions, the best results he achieved together with Ivanov, Sergei Abdukarow and Pantow in the relay in 18th place and in the team competition in eleventh place. In the individual competitions he was 70th in the individual, 31st in the sprint and 41st in the pursuit. The highlight of his career was his participation in the 1998 Winter Olympics . In his three starts, 24th place in the sprint was the outstanding result thanks to faultless shooting performance, 59th place in the individual was within his possibilities and in the line-up Pantow, Posdnjakow, Menschtschikow and Ivanov he came in sixteen with the relay. At the Winter Asian Games in 1999 he won the relay and was second in the sprint and individual. Also in 2001 Posdnyakov started at the World Championships, in Pokljuka he was 89th in the sprint and three years later at the World Championships , in addition to 79th place in the sprint, he achieved another remarkable placement at the end of his career with the 41st place in the individual.
