Dodo Goya

Rodolfo "Dodo" Goya (born October 14, 1939 in Livorno ; † March 25, 2017 in Sanremo ) was an Italian jazz musician ( bass , composition).

Goya started playing the double bass at the age of 18 . Since the 1960s he played in the groups of Franco Cerri , Gianni Basso , Renato Sellani, Franco D'Andrea and Tullio De Piscopo . He also accompanied traveling musicians such as Gerry Mulligan / Dave Samuels ( Gerry Mulligan Sextet in Italy 1976 ), Chet Baker , Mal Waldron and Irio De Paula . He can also be heard on albums by Jerry Bergonzi , Eraldo Volonté, Gianni Basso and Renato Sellani. In 2013 the musician, who lives in San Remo, received the Premio Renzo Laurano .
