action

To distract their old friend Vince from his divorce, his friends Neil, Patrick, Mikey, Matt, Graham and Banksy decide to take him to Moodley, which is located in the middle of an extensive forest area. There they want to spend the night in a house that belongs to Mikey's grandparents. They rent a minibus with a driver, which they nickname "Candy".

Banksy misses the joint departure and when he tries to follow the others with his own car, he breaks down. Before arriving in Moodley, the other men put their cell phones in a bag that remains on the bus. When they reach their destination, they find that the place seems desolate and deserted. The group wants to get drunk in the pub, but they meet neither other guests nor a host there. There is only one woman on the toilet who is vomiting - it seems to be blood.

Mikey goes alone to his grandparents' property, where he discovers body parts that are being eaten by a woman in a wedding dress. The woman notices Mikey and follows him with an ax. The others have since left the pub and see a soldier who attacks an apparently defenseless woman. The friends knock the soldier unconscious, but are attacked at the same time by the woman who now has a knife in her hands. Mikey comes over and knocks the attacker down with a garden gnome. Now seem monstrous, blood-smeared women from everywhere. The men flee to the bus, they take the soldiers with them. Candy is behind the wheel, vomiting and hissing at the men with blood-smeared mouths.

The group then barricades themselves in the house that belongs to Mikey's grandparents. The soldier has since recovered and said that all women in the village have been infected by a virus that turns them into male-murdering cannibals. Escape on foot is pointless. One tries again to get to the bus, but in the meantime there are several horrific mutated women in the vehicle. The men are initially separated, but in the end they make their way to the village church, where a kind of computer center is set up. Here you can find out the whole truth: An experiment was carried out in Moodley, the military tested the virus for possible war use. "Phase 2" now begins, in which the afflicted women act faster and more intelligently.

Mikey's grandmother shows up at church; she too has changed terribly. She is overwhelmed and killed by Matt. Shortly thereafter, Matt himself becomes the victim of a completely disfigured woman. The other men have to flee the church, losing sight of Graham.

Outside they meet Banksy, who has rented a car and has now also arrived in Moodley. But they are not saved because the vehicle is a smart . After another attack by the women, only Vince, Mikey and Neil remain. The bus is still guarded by Candy, who can be overpowered by the three. The men leave the village by vehicle, but suddenly hear Graham's voice over a walkie-talkie . They return and discover their friend who has set himself free.

Graham has a remote control with which he can paralyze women. When Vince keeps playing around with it, it breaks. The women come ominously closer, but the four surviving men flee laughing.

Reviews

The horror comedy is part of a wave of bloody horror comedies that have changed the UK film market since the success of Shaun of the Dead . However, the film also shows a new trend to bring the gender war to splatter cinema. Similar films such as Lesbian Vampire Killers , Zombie Strippers and Strippers vs. Zombies play with gender roles and are often attacked for their sexism . The film was criticized mainly because of the lack of variety and the strongly sexist humor, the performance of the actors, especially that of Danny Dyer and Stephen Graham , was praised .

"Bloodthirsty gender comedy in the wake of the parodic horror film" Shaun of the Dead "."

"Why" Doghouse "conjures up a permanent grin on the face of the (male) viewer despite the small dramaturgical hang-ups, is due to the refreshingly realistic anti-hero collective. (...) Conclusion: Despite the lack of tension, the male horror response to" Sex and the City "is a lot of fun."
