Dolina ( German Dörnsdorf ) is a district of Kryštofovy Hamry in the Czech Republic .
geography
The village was located about 3 kilometers north-northeast of Měděnec on the ridge of the Ore Mountains in the catchment area of the Preßnitz dam . The connecting road from Výsluní to Loučná pod Klínovcem runs through the village . The Chomutov – Vejprty railway line runs to the east .
history
The first written mention of the place dates from the year 1431. In a certificate of division from October 26th 1431 between the cousins Alesch and Wilhelm von Schönburg auf Birsenstein . For centuries Dörnsdorf belonged to Preßnitz and its landlords.
Near the village, in the direction of Orpus, there were a number of mines - especially silver mines. The comparatively high yield was interrupted by the Thirty Years War . A tax roll from 1654 states that mainly cattle breeding was carried out in the place. At the beginning of the 18th century, interest in the silver mines increased and they were swamped. At Dörnsdorf it went z. B. the Marie Kirchenbau colliery, which was very productive. At the end of the 18th century, the company was closed. After the end of the mining industry, the inhabitants made a living by making lace, making trimmings, knitwear and gloves, peddling and carting.
In 1813 the place suffered from troops passing through as a result of the Napoleonic wars. In 1850, Dörnsdorf and the Orpus settlement became an independent municipality.
A school was built in 1876. In February 1907 a lace school was opened. In the school year 1912/13 they attended 96 students. There was also an agricultural training school, a branch of the Agricultural Forest Association for the judicial districts of Preßnitz and Weipert .
After the Second World War, the predominantly German-Bohemian population was expelled , the number of inhabitants sank to about a tenth of that of 1930.
With the construction of the Preßnitz dam , the place was in its catchment area and was therefore cleared in the early 1970s and demolished by 1974. The district was added to Kryštofovy Hamry.
The only thing that has been preserved is a memorial near the road for the fallen soldiers of the First World War, renovated in 1995.
