Dometic Group is a Swedish manufacturer of caravan installations and absorption chillers . The company has 6,350 employees worldwide and manufactures in 22 plants in Europe, North America and Asia. a. Minibars (absorber technology), caravan cooling systems, stoves, doors and windows, mobile cooling systems, sanitary systems for caravans and boats, generators and special refrigerators and freezers ( compressor technology ) for medicine, pharmacy and research. The German headquarters of the Dometic Group is Dometic Germany Holding GmbH, based in Siegen .
history
Until 2001, Dometic was part of the Swedish Electrolux group.
From 2005 onwards, Dometic was part of the BC Partners company , which is based on OTC or private equity ( private equity company). In September 2009 a bank consortium took over 70 percent of the shares; another 30 percent were taken over by management. The change of ownership was related to the company's debt of around 1.3 billion euros at the time.
Seitz, manufacturer of caravan windows and doors, from Krautheim has been part of the group since 2000 - back in the days of Electrolux.
Since March 1, 2007, the Waeco Group, headquartered in Emsdetten and employing 1,800 people, has been part of the Dometic Group.
Since May 2011, the Dometic Group has belonged again to the Swedish private equity fund EQT , which was the owner before (after Electrolux and before BC Partners).
On November 25, 2015, Dometic went public with a market value of 528 million US dollars. The private equity fund EQT was the largest shareholder at the time with 57%.
In 2016 the company had total sales of SEK 12.39 billion.
