Dominic Oley

Dominic Oley (* 1980 in Meerbusch ) is a German actor , theater director and playwright .

Life

Dominic Oley studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 2001 , graduating in 2005. He received lessons from Karlheinz Hackl , Klaus Maria Brandauer and Samy Molcho, among others .

He then became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Essen Theater , where he could be seen as Peter Sequence in Midsummer Night's Dream , as Cem in the world premiere of Ehrensache , as Elm in the world premiere of Schlafengehn and as the comedian harmonist Harry . Since 2009 he has lived and worked in Vienna as a freelance writer, director, actor and musician . In May 2010 the world premiere of his play Flaneur of Fear premiered in the Drachengasse theater . As a director, he staged at the Wiener Wortstätten and at the Theater an der Gumpendorfer Straße , and in the 2012/13 season he directed Minus and the crazy hat hunt at the Landestheater Niederösterreich .

As part of the 2013 Nestroy Theater Prize , he was awarded the Best Supporting Role category for his portrayal of Dr. Feldmann in Jägerstätter by Felix Mitterer and Mulholland in Speed by Zach Helm at the Theater in der Josefstadt , where he was seen in the world premiere of Ödön von Horváth's drama Nobody in the role of Klein in 2016 and in Der Gockel by Georges Feydeau as Pontagnac . In the 2017/18 season he was there in the title role of the stage version of Shakespeare in Love alongside Swintha Gersthofer as Viola de Lesseps. In September 2018 he celebrated the world premiere of the comedy Four Star Hours by Daniel Glattauer at the Wiener Kammerspiele in the role of hotelier David-Christian Reichenshoffer.

In 2014 he played a leading role in the film Therapy for a Vampire alongside Cornelia Ivancan and Tobias Moretti as the painter Viktor. In the Arte / ZDF / ORF documentary about Queen Victoria , he played the role of Albert von Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha in 2019 , alongside Franziska Singer as Victoria.

At the Salzburg Festival he made his debut in 2019 in summer guests of Maxim Gorky in the role of Nikolai Samyslow.
