Donald Walter Trautman (born June 24, 1936 in Buffalo , New York , USA ) is an American clergyman and was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Erie until his retirement .

Life

Donald Walter Trautman studied Catholic theology and philosophy at Niagara University in Lewiston and at the University of Innsbruck . a. with Karl Rahner . In 1962 he obtained a licentiate in theology. On April 7, 1962, he received by the Apostolic Administrator of Innsbruck Feldkirch , Paul Rusch , the priesthood for the Diocese of Buffalo .
