The evangelical village church Münchhausen is a hall church in round arch style in Münchhausen , a district of the community Sonnewalde in the district of Elbe-Elster in the state of Brandenburg . The church belongs to the parish of Lower Lausitz the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .

location

The federal highway 96 leads in a north-south direction through the place. In the historic town center, the Kurzes Ende street branches off to the west or as the Langes Ende to the east and crosses the Pennsdorfer Graben . To the southeast of this intersection, the building stands on a plot of land that is fenced in with masonry stones .

history

While the place was first mentioned in a document in 1229, the sacred building was not built until 1895. There was a previous building, which was a branch church of Frankena .

Building description

West portal

The structure was essentially built from reddish brick . The drafted choir is currently closed. On the east wall is a large, arched screen into which a triple-coupled arched window with a raised central window is let. The bottles are also made of brick. At the transition to the eaves is a round arch frieze that is open downwards . Two double-stepped buttresses stabilize the structure. The north side of the choir is closed. On the south side is a sacristy with a rectangular floor plan. It can be entered from a gate from the east via another, small extension. In the south of the extension there are two small, coupled arched windows, above them a circular screen in the pediment decorated with pinnacles . The choir wearing a gable roof , which with beaver tail covered and eastward hipped is.

The nave also has a rectangular floor plan. The east wall is closed. The north wall is dominated by three large fields, which are dominated by pilaster strips with an arched frieze that is also open at the bottom. There are two large arched windows in each facing towards the east, which extend almost over the entire facade. To the west is a panel of the same size, in which an arched window in the upper area and two smaller, coupled and pressed segment-arch-shaped windows below. The south side is constructed identically. The ship also has a gable roof.

The west tower is square and strongly drawn in opposite the ship. It can be entered from the west through a large round portal. This is decorated with two coupled columns that stand out clearly from the rest of the building with their white paint. Above are three arched windows. On the north side there is another extension with a gate on the west side. In the middle floor there is a narrow arched opening, above it a tower clock. The slightly recessed bell storey follows. There are two coupled sound arcades on each side , above a frieze and the kinked tower dome , which ends with a tower ball and a cross.

The church equipment is uniform and comes from the construction time.
