history
In 1219 there was a chapel in Rauda, as evidenced by a document from the nunnery in Eisenberg . Since the Reformation , Rauda's church has been a branch of Etzdorf .
The year of construction of today's church is unknown; however, the architectural style is baroque . In 1701 the addition of the sacristy and the boxes was fixed in writing. The church tower was reported in writing in 1749. The patron of the church was the Etzdorf landowner . His coat of arms is placed above the portal of the church.
Furnishing
Between 1705 and 1720 the church was fundamentally rebuilt and the whole building was repaired. The nave was extended to the east and a sacristy was added. In 1749/50 the retracted church tower was completely renewed on a square floor plan . It was given an eight-sided upper floor in which the belfry is located. On top of it sits a low, curly hood , which is crowned with an open lantern with a tower ball . The old bronze bells were melted down during World War II . Today's small bell is from 1934, the big one from 1953. Both bells must be rung manually. The nave is equipped with two-storey galleries and spanned with a ceiling supported by coves . A morgue was built from the landlord's patronage box , which was demolished in 1999. The last thorough renovation was in 1982. The stucco ceiling has been put back in order and the hall has become brighter. The extension of the nave is separated by a wall with the baroque pulpit altar . An organ was not installed at that time, the repair of an organ is registered between 1877 and 1905.
