  • the maintenance and promotion of the “Doxbrunnen” and “Steppachtal” areas, which are characterized by a wide variety of moisture levels in a very small space, with their reed beds and large sedge areas and partly open water areas;
  • the preservation and promotion of very species-rich semi-arid grasslands with marginal hedges and woods in various forms as food and habitat for species-rich insect, bird and small mammal fauna;
  • the preservation and promotion of the perennial borders that exist in the most varied of forms along the edges of hedges and forests;
  • the preservation, promotion and protection of habitats and places of retreat for the fauna and flora, which is found in an extraordinarily large variety of species, in a part of the limestone cultural landscape that has been preserved in a particularly natural way.

Mountain newts and fire salamanders can be found in the reed areas . The edge of the hedgerow and field trees serve as a retreat for the red-backed shrike .
