The Dr.-Max-Näder-Gymnasium Königsee is a state high school in Königsee , Thuringia . It is three-class and is also a cooperating UNESCO project school and environmental school in Europe .

history

Before the high school in Königsee was built, around 500 students had to be transported to the Bad Blankenburg grammar school every day . Daily transport confronted the poorly developed network of public transport with insoluble tasks. In May 1991, Königsee was confirmed as the location for a primary school, a regular school and a grammar school according to the school network planning.

With the 1991/1992 school year, the gradual construction of a grammar school level began in Königsee, initially with grades 5 to 7. The strong increase in students made it necessary to build a new grammar school, as the Königsee regular school, which then housed the grammar school, was closed became small. A three-class high school with around 600 students, around 24 classes and a catchment area that covers the entire western and south-western part of the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district was planned . It was hoped that construction would start in the spring of 1993. In order to bridge the shortage of space until the new building was completed, mobile room cells with eleven classrooms and a teacher's room were set up on the grounds of the Königsee regular school . In June 1993 the district council approved the construction of the high school, but financial problems delayed the construction.

District Administrator Thomas broke ground in December 1993, and the foundation stone was laid in March 1994.

Due to the increasing number of pupils, the mobile classrooms were no longer sufficient in the 1994/1995 school year. Therefore, it was agreed that the rooms of the former crèche would be used.

The topping-out ceremony for the new building was celebrated on May 29, 1995. Structural and equipment issues now dominated everyday school life. The school year 1996/1997 moved into the new building, around 600 students from 40 locations in the catchment area were taught in 18 classes and 8 main courses.

The name was given on January 22, 1997. The school's namesake, Max Näder (1915–2009), played an important role in establishing the manufacturer of orthopedic products , today's Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH , which had its headquarters in Königsee until 1946.

Due to its very good facilities and the shorter travel distance, more and more students from the places Gehren , Herschdorf and Großbreitenbach in the Ilm district have come to the high school in Königsee in recent years . There are currently two grammar schools in Ilmenau , but the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs stipulated that if more than 125 students from the Ilm district attend the Näder grammar school, the two grammar schools in Ilmenau would have to be merged. However, this is highly controversial there. Some see this as just a pretext for the state government to close one of the Ilmenau high schools.

Partner of the high school

Partnerships exist with the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Pulheim ( Germany ), the Gymnasium Joliot-Curie in Hirson ( France ) and the Gymnasium Srobarova in Košice ( Slovakia ).
