college

Lock played for Missouri Football for four years . In his first year at college (2015), Lock took over the team as starting quarterback. However, his first year was not very productive for him, and he could only gain 1,332 yards of space and 4 touchdowns with 8 interceptions in 12 games . His team also clearly missed participation in a bowl with 5 wins and 7 losses. In the following year, 2016, Lock made its breakthrough and was able to improve significantly in all statistics. So he was able to hang up 3,399 yards with 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in the season. 2017 scored Lock with 44 touchdowns not only the most touchdowns in a season of his college career, but also the most touchdowns a quarterback in NCAA -Season 2017. The runner-up in these statistics was 2017 Baker Mayfield , who in the NFL Draft in 2018 as the first player was selected, with 43 touchdowns. Lock also set a new record in the Southeastern Conference with 44 touchdowns . In the 2017 season, Lock managed to qualify for the first time to participate in a bowl. At the Texas Bowl, however, you lost to the University of Texas at Austin . 2018 was another strong year for Lock with 28 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and 3,498 yards. He also ran 175 yards and 6 touchdowns. At the Liberty Bowl 2018, Lock and his team could not win again, they lost Oklahoma State with 33-38.

NFL

NFL experts saw Lock in the run-up to the NFL Draft 2019 mostly as a first-round pick. Ultimately, however, Lock was only selected in 42nd place by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft . He was the fourth quarterback after Kyler Murray , Daniel Jones and Dwayne Haskins to be drafted in 2019.

Lock made his NFL debut in Week 13 of the regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers . He was used as starting quarterback after the former Super Bowl winner and actual starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos ( Joe Flacco , formerly Baltimore Ravens ) was injured and backup Brandon Allen did not perform well. On his debut, Lock threw two touchdown passes and an interception , the Broncos won 23:20. Lock's strongest performance of the season came in a surprising 38:24 win over the Houston Texans , in which Lock completed 71.5% of his passes. He recorded three touchdowns on an interception. While the Broncos clearly missed the play-offs of the 2019 season with 7-9, a positive development succeeded under Lock: of the five games with him as starting quarterback, the Broncos won four.
