The Dudypta ( Russian Дудыпта ) is a 687 km long right tributary of the Pyassina in northern Siberia ( Russia , Asia ).
course
The Dudypta flows at a height of 53 m from Lake Makar, which belongs to the Dudypta lakes (Russian: Dudyptskije osjora ). The lakes are located in the central part of the North Siberian Lowland , which extends in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory between the Putorana and Byrranga Mountains . Over its entire length, the Dudypta flows through the lake-rich, swampy tundra landscape of this lowland in many places in a south-westerly direction. It reaches the Pyassina almost 150 km below its origin in Lake Pyassino , immediately below the abandoned settlement Kresty and almost 200 km northeast of the city of Norilsk . The river is more than 500 meters wide and three meters deep near the mouth, and the flow velocity there is 0.8 m / s.
Hydrology
The catchment area of the Dudypta covers 33,100 km². It has a large number of water-rich tributaries, including Ulachan-Jurjach , Bataika , Ugarnaja and Tundrowaja from the right and Paiturma , Kamennaya , Awam , Kystyktach and Bychy from the left.
Use and infrastructure
The Dudypta is navigable on 150 kilometers of the lower reaches, but not included in the list of inland waterways .
The area through which it flows is extremely sparsely populated; There are no villages directly on the river. The only village in the catchment area of the river is Ust-Awam, a good ten kilometers above its confluence with the Dudypta on the left Awam tributary, and more than 300 km as the crow flies from the city of Dudinka , to which the village is administratively subordinate. Accordingly, there is no traffic infrastructure in the area.
The Dudypta is said to be rich in fish, including various salmon fish of the genus Coregonus , including muksun ( C. muksun ) and great vendace ( C. nasus , Russian Tschir ).
