Duffenter is a northern quarter of Stolberg (Rhld.) In the Aachen city region between Donnerberg and Oberstolberg . The height is 276.3 m above sea level. NN .
The area of the Duffenter and the Duffenter Hof belonged to Eschweiler at least since the 18th century . At the official census on December 1, 1905, Donnerberg / Duffenter with 1,471 inhabitants was one of the five districts, along with city center / Röthgen, Bergrath, Röhe and Pump-Stich / Aue. On January 1, 1935, Duffenter was reclassified from Eschweiler to Stolberg together with Birkengang, Donnerberg, Steinfurt , Steinbachshochwald and Velau . In October 1944 the 12th Infantry Division and the 12th Artillery Regiment were engaged in heavy defensive battles against the US troops in the Hastenrath / Duffenter area .
