Münsterau is a southern part of the Stolberg district of Vicht in the Aachen city region . At Münsterau, the Eigertsief flows into the Vichtbach on the right . The Burgberg (altitude 308 and 333 m above sea level ) separates the valley of the Eigertsief in the north from that of the Fischbach. The average height is 231.5 m above sea level. NHN . With the incorporation of Gressenich on January 1, 1972, Münsterau and Vicht became part of Stolberg.

The place name is related to the Münsterländchen and the imperial abbey Kornelimünster .

The Vichter Landhaus and the Reitwerke Platenhammer and Neuenhammer are located at “Jägersfahrt” , in the direction of Zweifall Junkershammer , the most important equestrian center in the Vichttal.
