Attractions
- In the provincial capital of Mandalgobi the Aimag Museum and the Daschgimpeliin Chiid monastery, which is currently inhabited by 30 monks . It was destroyed in 1937 and reopened in 1992.
- In the district town of Erdenedalai , the second largest town in the Aimag, the Gimpil Dardjaalan Chiid monastery . It was built at the end of the 18th century and was one of the few monasteries in Mongolia that was not destroyed in 1937.
- The temple Süm Chöch Bürd , 65 km northwest of Mandalgobi on the lake Sangiin Dalai Nuur.
- The Ongiin Chiid monastery complex on the Ongiin Gol river in Sum Saikhan Ovoo, currently being rebuilt.
- Baga Gadsryn Chuluu rock mountains with rock paintings and caves, about 50 km north of Mandalgobi.
