Dusan Novakov
Dusan Novakov (* 1970 in Pančevo as Dušan Novakov ) is a Serbian drummer and percussionist of modern jazz .
Live and act
Novakov attended the Grožnjan jazz seminar between 1986 and 1988 and took lessons from Reggie Workman . In 1989 he moved to Graz, where he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts ; after a year in Rotterdam, he completed his master's degree in 1998.
Novakov had been part of Karlheinz Miklin's trio since 1991 , with whom he released recordings with Mark Murphy . He has also performed with Oliver Lake , George Cables , Dick Oatts , Don Menza , Kirk Lightsey , Michele Hendricks , Toninho Horta , Dusko Goykovich , Valery Ponomarev , Andy Bey , Bread Lealy, Karl Ratzer , Timna Brauer and Elias Meiri Ensemble, Fernando Correa , Fritz Pauer , the Berndt Luef Big Band Graz, Frank Lacy , Gregory Porter and Andy Middleton . He also belonged to the Blue Brass by Paul Zauner with which he presented two albums. In 2010 he founded the trio Triple Ace together with Oliver Kent and Uli Langthaler , which released its first CD in 2012. According to Tom Lord , he was involved in 50 recordings in the field of jazz between 1995 and 2017.
