The Gmina wiejska Działdowo [ d͡ʑau̯ˈdɔvɔ ] is a rural municipality in the powiat Działdowski in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . It has 9,836 inhabitants (June 30, 2019) and has an area of 272.8 km², 17% of which is occupied by forest and 74% by agricultural area. The administrative seat of the rural community is the town of Działdowo ( German Soldau ), which is not part of it as an independent township.

The municipality is located in the Oberland of the former East Prussia on the north bank of the river Działdówka ( Soldau ) , 157 meters above sea level, about 23 kilometers southwest of Nidzica ( Neidenburg ) and 73 kilometers south-southwest of Olsztyn ( Allenstein ).
