East Dubuque is a city in the far northwest of the US -amerikanischen State of Illinois in Jo Daviess County . At the 2000 census it had 1995 inhabitants. history

After the area was first settled by Indians , Nicolas Perrot, the first white explorer, appeared there in the 17th century . The first known white settlers were the French Julien Dubuque and Stephen Dubois in 1787 .

In 1832, Eleazer and Diadamia Frentress were the first couple to permanently settle. In the same year, the Reverends Crummer and James held services for the first time in the improvised schoolhouse on the grounds of the Frentress Farm.
