course
The East Fork White River is formed on the western outskirts of Columbus at the confluence of the Driftwood River (right) and Flatrock River (left). The Big Blue River , left headwaters of the Driftwood River, is considered to be the actual upper reaches of the river system. The East Fork White River initially flows south to Seymour . He then turns to the southwest and passes Brownstown, Vallonia and Medora. On this route it shows a strongly meandering behavior. At Medora , the Medora Covered Bridge spans the river. The East Fork White River takes the Muscatatuck River from the left and turns west. At Bedford , the Salt Creek flows into the river from the north. The following kilometers it cuts through a ridge and flows mainly in a south-westerly direction later in a southerly direction. The last 40 kilometers to the confluence with the White River or until it joins the West Fork White River, the river flows west. He passes the town of Petersburg .
canoe
The East Fork White River can be canoeed. A canoe tour from Columbus to the estuary takes around 12 days. Several smaller dams and weirs along the river must be bypassed by portage .
