EasyMax is the name of a type of multi-purpose cargo ship operated by the Dutch shipping company Wagenborg Shipping .

history

The ship type was designed by Royal Wagenborg and Koninklijke Niestern Sander in collaboration with Conoship International.

The type ship was built from the end of 2015 to April 2017. In March 2019, Wagenborg Shipping ordered a second ship of the type.

The ship type was awarded the Maritime KVNR Shipping Award from the Koninklijke Vereniging van Nederlandse Reders in November 2017.

description

The ships are from a four-stroke - six-cylinder - diesel engine of the manufacturer Caterpillar : (Type MaK 2999 6M32C)  kW power driven. The motor acts on a variable pitch propeller with a Kort nozzle via a reduction gear . The cruising speed of the ships is around 11  knots . The ships are equipped with an electrically powered bow thruster with 750 kW output.

A generator with 804 kW power (1005  kVA apparent power ) and two diesel generators (450 kVA apparent power), each driven by a Caterpillar diesel engine of the type C18 with 360 kW power, are available for power generation. In addition, an emergency generator with 150 kW output (188 kVA apparent power) was installed.

The ships have two box-shaped holds . Cargo hold 1 is 47.36 m long, 13.50 m wide and 12.10 m high, while cargo hold 2 is 64.38 m long, 13.50 m wide and 12.10 m high. The total capacity of the holds is 17,698 m³. The holds are closed with pontoon hatch covers. The hatch covers can be moved with a hatch cart. The ships can also be operated with open holds. The hatch covers can then be stored in the front and rear areas of hatch 1 and in the rear area of hatch 2. The length of the hatch opening is reduced to 32.58 m for hatch 1 and 58.50 m for hatch 2. The hatch covers can also be removed from the ship and stored on land. The ships are equipped with two bulkheads with which the holds can be divided. The bulkheads can be set up in four positions in hold 1 and in five positions in hold 2. The tank cover can be loaded with 15 t / m², the hatch cover with 1.75 t / m².

The deckhouse is located in the bow area, the machinery is located in the stern area of the ships. The forward deckhouse allows high loads to be transported without restricting the foresight from the bridge . At the same time it serves as protection for deck cargoes or when operating with open hatch covers.

The maneuvering station in the bow area of the ship for berthing and casting off is covered and integrated into the deck superstructure. The ships are driven by a crew of seven . Eleven cabins are available on board for crew members.

The hull of the ships is reinforced with ice ( ice class 1A).
