Ebl-Naturkost ( proper spelling : ebl-naturkost ) is an organic supermarket chain based in Fürth . It operates 29 branches (as of July 2019) in Upper , Lower and Middle Franconia . Measured by the number of branches, Wirtschaftswoche listed Ebl-Naturkost as the fifth largest organic supermarket chain in Germany.

Ebl operates 13 branches in Nuremberg , two each in Fürth, Erlangen and Bamberg and one each in Oberasbach , Stein , Feucht , Röthenbach an der Pegnitz , Heroldsberg , Herzogenaurach , Schwabach , Forchheim and Würzburg . The company also has its own butcher's shop .

In 1994 Gerhard Bickel founded the company and the first shop was opened in Zirndorf .

In 2012, the main headquarters was relocated from Nuremberg to the industrial area in the Hardhöhe district of Fürth .
