Eddy Ferhi (born November 26, 1979 in Charenton-le-Pont ) is a French ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Anglet Hormadi Elite in Division 1 since 2011 .

Career

Eddy Ferhi began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the traditional club Français Volants . From 1999 to 2003 he studied at Sacred Heart University , for whose ice hockey team he played parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . Towards the end of the 2002/03 season , the goalie made his professional ice hockey debut for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in the American Hockey League . This was his only professional assignment until the end of the season. In the following season he ran 19 times for the Mighty Ducks in the AHL and in three games for the San Diego Gulls from the ECHL , for which he was a total of 30 times on the ice in the 2004/05 season .

In the summer of 2005 Ferhi returned to Europe and received a contract in the French Ligue Magnus with Anglet Hormadi Élite , where he prevailed in France's highest ice hockey league . After a year he moved to competitor Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 . In the following five years he was a reliable goalkeeper and won the French championship title twice with Grenoble (2007 and 2009), twice the Coupe de France (2008 and 2009), three times the Coupe de la Ligue (2007 , 2009 and 2011). He himself has also received several awards. In 2007 and 2008 he received the trophy Jean Ferrand as the best goalkeeper of the Ligue Magnus, in whose all-star team he was selected in 2008, 2009 and 2010 respectively.

Due to better career opportunities at a marketing company, he left Grenoble in 2011, but will continue to play professional ice hockey for his ex-club Anglet Homardi Elite in the French second division, Division 1 , in the 2011/12 season .

For France , Ferhi took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1997 and the U20 Junior B World Championship in 1999 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2006 B World Championships and the 2007 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships, as well as at the A World Championships in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 .
