Eddy Fischer
Eduard "Eddy" Fischer (born December 16, 1916 in Chiesch , Bohemia ; † August 24, 1992 ) was a German theater and costume sculptor (trained in the GDR / East German federal states: theater sculptor = BRD stage sculptor ).
Life
Eduard Fischer completed an apprenticeship as a saddler , upholsterer , decorator , car painter, coach painter, interior designer and linoleum layer . In 1945 with a new beginning after the Second World War , his first steps were in the Meiningen Theater as a technical assistant. In 1949 he became theater master in Potsdam . In 1950, Helene Weigel brought him to the Berliner Ensemble as a kascheur for a reusable chicken to pluck . This was the beginning of costume sculpture. Until it was closed by Claus Peymann in 2000, the workshop was located next to the rehearsal stage of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin-Mitte.
Theater and costume sculptures for European theaters and opera houses followed. He created theater and costume sculptures for Klaus Noack , Helene Weigel , Caspar Neher , Wolfgang Heinz , Karl von Appen , Heinrich Kilger , Benno Besson , Manfred Wekwerth , Heiner Müller , Peter Zadek , Fritz Bennewitz , Horst Sübers , Ruth Berghaus , Bertolt, among others Brecht , Götz Friedrich , Karl Kneidl , Harry Kupfer , Konrad Wolf and Erich Engel .
His grave is in the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof II in Berlin-Mitte.
