Eduard Alexandrowitsch Rjabow ( Russian Эдуард Александрович Рябов ; born January 16, 1972 ) is a former Russian biathlete who temporarily competed for Kyrgyzstan .

Eduard Ryabov comes from Khanty-Mansiysk and started for the Ugra region . He won the gold medal in the relay race with Pawel Muslimow , Pawel Wawilow and Nikolai Klykow at the first ever European Biathlon Championships in Kontiolahti in 1994 . He made his debut at the start of the 1994/95 season in the Biathlon World Cup . In his first individual, he achieved a top ten placement with sixth place. In the further course of the season he was third in a single in Oberhof behind Wilfried Pallhuber and Patrice Bailly-Salins . It was the only podium result in a single race in the World Cup. The highlight of the first season was the biathlon world championships in 1995 in Antholz , where Ryabov finished eighth in the individual as well as with Alexei Kobelew , Pavel Muslimow and Vladimir Drachev in the relay race. He finished sixth in the overall ranking of the World Cup. He should not be able to build on these achievements in the period that followed, although he still achieved top ten results several times in the two following seasons. At the 1997 European Biathlon Championships in Windischgarsten , he won the silver medal with Vladimir Bechterew , Andrei Padin and Alexei Sidorow as the final runner in the relay race behind the Germans. In 1999 he won relay silver again with Kobelew, Sergei Konovalov and Muslimov in Izhevsk . For the final of the 1999/2000 season , Ryabov was able to start again in the World Cup for the first time since 1997 in Khanty-Mansiysk , but without showing any significant achievements. They were also the last pure World Cup races of his career. Before 2003 he changed associations and competed for Kyrgyzstan at the 2003 Biathlon World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk. The Russian finished 60th in the individual, 40th in the sprint and 41st in the pursuit. His last international races he also contested in Khanty-Mansiysk at the IBU Grand Prix 2003. In the same year he was in Kansk together with Prokunin , Beresnew and Kobelew as the final runner in the relay of Russian champions.

Ryabov is one of the directors of the "Центр спортивной подготовки сборных команд Югры" (German: "Training center of the sports teams of the Ugra region").
